Young Adult Family Spring Fling

We have changed the date for our Spring Fling to Saturday April 17th from 4pm to 7pm. Bring the kids to church for outdoor fun! Bouncy house, t-ball, sidewalk chalk and bubbles will get the little ones excited about the warm weather. Don’t forget the kid’s tricycles for races in the parking lot. Bring a side dish or dessert to share and we will enjoy dinner together after the outdoor activities.

Pumpkin Farm for the Family

Let's bring in the fall by visiting a pumpkin farm!

WHERE: Riverbend Farm (12150 McManus Road, Midland, NC 28107)
WHEN: Sunday, October 25th 1pm-until
WHO: Yourself, your kids, and/or anyone else you want to come!
$$$: $4/person (2 years and up)

We have reserved a picnic shelter on the farm (beside the play area) so pack a lunch for your family and we'll eat there first. Then, there are many things to do. Visit the website http://www.riverbendfarm.net/ for a list of all the activities they offer. If you want to get your pumpkin there, they are $.40/pound.

Directions:
10 miles east of I-485 down Albemarle Road. Turn right on McManus Road and go to the dead end.

Moms and Dads Bible Study

Now that the kids are back in school, come to Moms and Dads Bible Study group! We will continue our bible study on Wednesday mornings at 9:30, with babysitting provided. Here are the dates for the fall: September 16th and 30th, October 14th and 28th, and November 4th and 18th. We hope to plan some fun fall events as well, so come out and join us.

NOOMA Class Update

At the most recent Christian Growth Team meeting, we discussed the name for this class. As we may not always be watching the NOOMA videos, we should come up with a name that is more representative of our group: who we are, or what we believe. So, start thinking about an official name for our class as we move into the fall.

Join us at Plaza Fiesta!

The Moms and Dads Bible Study group will meet at Plaza Fiesta on Wednesday, July 29th at 10:30am. Bring your kids and join us for the fun. The cost is $2 per child and children must be less than 54” tall to play. Socks are required, so don’t forget them. See you there!

Food and Cookies

As you do your grocery shopping, please remember those less fortunate. The Loaves & Fishes warehouse is in great need of food. They can use any of the following: canned meats, fruits, beans of all kinds, and breakfast foods. Donations can be made at the church.

Also, we continue to supply cookies for the USO for service personnel who are passing through Charlotte Douglas International Airport. Let's help our service men and women know that they are appreciated.

Rob Bell in Charlotte

Calling all NOOMA class members and anyone interested in checking out a dynamic and inspirational Christian speaker. Rob Bell will be speaking at Ovens Auditorium on Friday, October 9 at 8 p.m. Bell is the producer of a collection of videos used in one of our Adult Sunday School classes. If you are interested in hearing Bell's message, Tina and Chandler Cargill are coordinating group tickets at $20 per person. You still have time to reserve yours!
